Planning

Above I have created a calendar to ensure I know what is happening and when. I feel this will help keep me organised and on top of both the filming and editing; so far I feel we have struggled on the organisation for example; when filming the house scene Nicola was unable to attend. Therefore the above calendar will help the group understand when we will need to be progressing the music video.

Continuing to experiment

Here I have continued to experiment with ideas for my Digipak.

Editing

After filming each scene with have decided to edit them, this is going to save time when it comes to creating the final video because all we will need to do is organise the order of each scene which will be easy as we can refer back to the story boards.
From this filming I have also got knew images which I want to experiment with for my digipak.

Filming

I feel today was very successful we were able to capture another 20seconds of footage. When it came to the filming we decided to change a scene within our storyboards because we felt it was dull and boring - this one involved a band member sitting on a notepad and then money unrolling around him; instead we have replaced it with all the band members within a house and money rolling down the house. I really like this scene because we created a smooth stop motion with little error. Some problems we did face was with lighting because we decided to use natural light as the lamp was to bright and made the plasticine reflect the light making the images out of focus. We also discovered since creating the small band members weeks ago they had become unbalanced, to improve this problem with used wire to make them more stable, in some shots we had to use cocktail sticks to ensure a stable position. Below are some onset photo's.

Filming plan

Tomorrow my group have planned to film some more scenes, my role in this will be to supply small scaled objects for example a range of cars. We will take it in turns to take photos and move the objects and models on set. One of the main priorities tomorrow will be teamwork as we are planning to get a lot done but will need to take our time so our stop motion will be as successful as possible. We have already organised a place and time with a camera and tripod, therefore am hopeful tomorrow will be a positive impact on our music video.

Tutorial

Today we had the opportunity to have a tutorial, we were able to discuss the idea's we have and how our music video will follow the Goodwin theory. We also understand an intertextual reference we could make within the video which involves the car chase from the Italian job. I feel this tutorial was really helpful because my group understand where our music video is going and feel positive with the progress we have made.

Above is a video of the Italian job car scene involving three mini coopers, I feel my group will be able to recreate this on a small scale with toy cars. We will use this intertextual reference with the lyrics 'You have a nice car' as it will create a relation between the lyrics and visuals which will reinforce Goodwin. It will be impossible to have people within the cars, therefore we are planning on the cars travelling around a play dough model.

Looking at existing posters

I decided to analyse existing products to inspire my ideas and to ensure I understand the conventions of a poster, mainly focusing on Indie bands. This will help me create a successful poster which reaches my target audience.
